Ugong Rock Adventures - Spelunking and Caving

After the Underground River tour we head to the Ugong Rock Adventures for some caving and ziplining. This is a 20 minute ride from the Sabang Port. The group of friends from our team are delighted to go the place. This was not part of my itinerary but since its along the way, then why not try it instead.

I am not so familiar about whats in the Ugong Rock, its amenities or anything. Though I already heard its name but don't have any idea about it.

Before we arrived at Ugong Rock, we had a quick stopover at Karst Mountain Elephant Cave for picture taking. Our tour guide says that entering the cave is allowed but must secure a permit fist. If only I'd known, I might secure one!

When we reached the Ugong Rock, I felt an adrenaline rush! I just felt excited in an instant. Probably because this was unplanned or because of their tag "Adrenaline Rush Guaranteed" --ohhh lets see about that.

Ugong Rock Adventures is known for their spelunking and caving activity. And they claim to be the "home to fastest zipline in the Philippines". Hmm.. Now, let the adventure begins!!

Welcome to Ugong Rock Adventures

The staffs on the area will conduct a quick orientation regarding the adventure from the history to safety precautions. The place was under the care of ABS-CBN Bantay Kalikasan and currently managed by Tagabinet Community Tourism Association. The guides and staffs working in here are residence on the area and the Ugong Rock is the source of their livelihood.

Look at the narrow passages. You really have to squeeze yourself for you to get in. The helmet and gloves will protect you from big and sharp edges rocks.

For you to reach at the top, you have to climb to this rope and the vertical ladder.

The view deck and zipline area of Ugong Rock
The Ugong Rock stands 75 feet high! The view is spectacular and breathtaking. In order for you to get down, you have 2 options. Do the same route the way you climb, which is the hard way, or choose the easy way which is the zipline. Nah, I still chose the hard way - lol. Though the group of friends from our group chooses to go for the zipline, I still didn't go for it. The zipline was indulging, its not that I'm afraid, no, it wont even be my first try to zipline. Its just that at that moment I don't feel the need to. An opportunity will not just come ones in a lifetime you know. There's definitely a next time, and that time I will no longer think twice and immediately do it! Gives me another reason to be back here someday.

The climb was not hard but not easy as well. It's perfect for burning calories enough to make you sweat and panting - lol. But dah.. the whole climb leaves me bruises everywhere, but definitely worth a try! It was really an adventure!

Unplanned adventure like this are sometimes becomes the best part of your travel too. As always, in traveling, expect the unexpected!
